Volunteer

We are so grateful to all our volunteers for the time, skills and expertise they give to Brigstowe.

Whether you are living with HIV or you are an ally there are many ways you can volunteer for Brigstowe. Whether through campaigns, events, public speaking, social media or administration there is an opportunity for you.

If you would like to volunteer your time to help with our fundraising efforts, please head over to our Fundraise page.

Sometimes, we have voluntary roles available to fulfil a specific skillset needed within the team, such as administrative support. These opportunities will be advertised on our recruitment page.

Some of our voluntary positions are always in open recruitment, so if you’re interted in volunteering for anyhting else, please get in touch for more information, or call our office to discuss the available opportunities with a member of staff.

Have you thought about volunteering but weren’t sure why or whether you could do it? Here are some of our volunteers explaining why they give their valuable time to our cause.

I volunteer because I believe that using your time and experience to help better the life of others, will in turn, help better the world – now that is time well spent.

-Emily, HIV Peer Facilitator

I volunteer because when I was diagnosed, I got so much amazing support I decided it was my time to give back. What I didn’t expect was how much I was going to get back from the people I have supported. It’s a wonderful symbiotic relationship.

-Andy, HIV Peer Mentor

I volunteer because I want to ensure that every person living with HIV never feels like they have to “suffer” alone, and for them to know that they have a community who will love and accept them.

-Eli, Campaigns Volunteer

I volunteer because I can give back to the wonderful HIV community that was there for me when I needed help the most and continues to be there for me along my own journey.
